    Description

Please see the included photo of a completed driftwood decorated vase, which is a project that we completed with these driftwood sticks.
This listing is for 40 - 10 to 12 inch driftwood sticks, enough to complete two driftwood vase projects.
Please note that we ship you the driftwood sticks, nothing else.
For this project you will also need hot glue, burlap, and a glass vase from the dollar store or a quart size mason jar. Our project also included a starfish.
We suggest cutting a piece of burlap the right size to cover your vase. Hot glue the driftwood sticks to the burlap while laying flat on a table, and then wrap the burlap around the vase and glue in place. Instead of gluing in place, you can wrap the vase with the burlap and tie it in place with a narrow burlap tie. Attach a starfish or other seashell with hot glue to finish it off.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sticks are packaged in bundles of twenty 10-12 inch sticks. You will receive 2 bundles of 20 sticks.
From our experience, we know that 20 sticks is enough for hot gluing around a 4 inch wide glass jar or vase. See the photo of 20 sticks laid flat, which measures 12 inches in width. 12 inches is the same measurement around a 4 inch jar, like a regular or wide mouth quart size mason jar. Please note that you will want to trim these sticks to the best length to fit your glass vase or jar. For a quart mason jar, we like our sticks to be just 6 - 7 inches long. We use the shorter trimmed stick pieces that are flat on each end for other arts and crafts projects.
For ease of hot-gluing, most of these have been selected to be as straight as possible.  Some are slightly curved. Most of the sticks included are approximately 10 inches long.  There are very few that are shorter than 10 inches. Some may be up to 12 inches long. To repeat, s
ticks are mixed straight and slightly curved. Some are forked or knobby. They vary in diameter from 1/8 to 1/2 inch, so there are a mix of thin sticks and thick ones.
Most of our sticks have one end that is weathered as found, and one end that has been cut. This was necessary to reduce very long sticks to less than 12 inches in length.
See our photos which are typical for pieces included in this lot. We have many bundles of driftwood sticks available. The sticks you receive will be as good or better than any that are pictured. If you have any special requests, please let us know.
These driftwood sticks are beautiful, naturally recycled wood. They were weathered smooth while being tossed around in the waters of Mobile Bay, then collected from the beaches near Fairhope Alabama, rinsed in fresh water, and sun dried outdoors for several weeks. All our sticks are clean and ready to use.
If you need a large quantity of driftwood sticks, cut to a specific length, or have other specific needs, let us know. We can put an order together to meet your requirements. We have hundreds of pieces of driftwood dried and in storage. We will custom cut to any size for your art or craft project. From micro-vase filler to wall-mount, our driftwood is genuine Mobile Bay driftwood.
