The Hitting Knob Training Aid for Baseball Softball. This is the 12 ounce version in excellent condition with little wear. I waited more than a year on the company's waiting list before I was able to buy it. Used as an alternative to the traditional weighted batting donut, the idea behind this training aid is that adding weight to the knob instead of the barrel helps hitters keep their hands inside the ball, allows them to get their barrel on path early, and in turn more effectively promotes the development of faster bat speed. There is scientific research that supports the hypothesis that adding weight at the knob improves bat speed and in fact suggests that using the traditional batting donut actually decreases bat speed. Selling because my son's baseball journey, which saw him play 14U All-Stars (where he hit his first home run), hit .382 in travel ball (striking out only twice in one summer with an OBP of .530 and an OPS of nearly .900), hit over .700 in his last seaon of rec ball, and make his high school baseball team has nearly come to an end. The extent to which this training aid contributed to his success is impossible to know because being able to barrel up a baseball consistently requires much more than proper swing mechanics. But it certainly didn't hurt.
Shipping:
Package will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail within the US. If you want the item shipped outside the US or Canada, please contact me first to see if it's possible. International shipments must be insured at your expense. Shipping costs will be consolidated if you win more than one item from me. I will NOT add on nonexistant excessive handling fees that many sellers will charge that go directly to their wallets. I have run into too many sellers on eBay who are so inflexible that they are not willing to accommodate their buyers on shipping so that they can selfishly profit from the handling fees they charge and get angry when they are called on it even though they can offer no legitimate justification for those fees.
Payment:
Payment is accepted through PayPal. Shipping costs will be consolidated if multiple items are won. I will contact the highest bidder by e-mail within 24 hours after the end of the auction (usually much sooner).
Please don't bid unless you fully intend to pay and send off payment within a couple of days after I have contacted you. I always hold up my end of the bargain, so it's only fair that you hold up your end and honor your bid as well. Please be aware of eBay's Nonpaying Bidder policy. I've had enough of people reneging on their bids.
