Mexico ND 1/4 Real San Miguel De Allende Hacienda Token Square Brass Circa 1800s
Mexico 1800's Hacienda Token found in the old city center of San Miguel De Allende in the state of Guanajuato.
This extremely rare square-shaped brass token is unlisted in the Grove catalogue, but recognized by experts.
Originally worth 1/4 Real to Hacienda workers in this format; a larger rectangular issue also exists worth 1/2 Real.
Token appears to have been hammer-struck with "S Miguel" on the obverse and left blank on the reverse.
